The University of Konstanz has been carrying out regular course evaluations since 2003. The departmental study commissions select approximately 1300 courses (LV) per semester. As a result, the course evaluations have a firm place within the university-wide quality management system.
The course evaluation has three primary goals:
- Students have the opportunity to provide feedback - lecturers can continually improve their courses.
- The study commissions receive systematic information and can introduce measures within the departments and study programmes that will improve teaching.
- The departments and the Rectorate have an established tool to evaluate the teaching in the study programmes.
