Non-Monetary Support
The central support services of the University of Konstanz are open to all fellows of the Zukunftskolleg. These services complement the financial support, resulting in an overarching concept in supporting the fellows.
Academic Staff Development
In the area of coaching and advanced training the Zukunftskolleg collaborates closely with the Academic Staff Development which is the central service unit of the University of Konstanz for human resources development, advancement of young researchers and teaching development. The Academic Staff Development team offers professional career counseling and coaching for junior researchers on all matters relating to an academic career and career development, e.g. in job-related decision-making processes, when assuming new (managerial) responsibilities, when applying for professorships, in coping with challenging phases in the qualification process or with regard to all questions of university teaching. Depending on the issue, consultation takes place in a single consultation, in a long-term individual coaching or in a peer-coaching format.
Science-related competencies across all disciplines may be gained and improved in the seminars and workshops organized by Academic Staff Development. Information sessions give comprehensive information on the German and international science systems. In an initial meeting at the beginning of a fellowship the training and counseling needs of each fellow are discussed individually with one of the Academic Staff Development career coaches.
Equal Opportunity Office
The Equal Opportunity Office is committed to ensuring a university environment that is free from discrimination and provides equal opportunities as well as a good balance between university and family life. It strives to make all university members feel welcomed and valued. Representatives of the Office for Equal Opportunity, Family Affairs and Diversity are in the Recruitment Committee of the Zukunftskolleg.
