Transdepartmental Collaborative Teaching

This funding programme aims at promoting the development of new teaching courses and at contributing to the departmental syllabi. The programme gives grant holders the opportunity to explore new, innovative topics in teaching, to further develop their teaching skills and to evolve teaching approaches across disciplines. New teaching formats are particularly encouraged. Recipients must deliver the course in the winter term 2023-2024 at the latest. The courses need to be taught by the researchers (non-tenured) from at least two disciplines represented at the University of Konstanz. Preference will be given to projects involving one fellow of the Zukunftskolleg.

Financial support will be given, e.g. to invite guest speakers, organize visits to archives, museums, or perform experiments.

Who may apply?

In line with the multidisciplinary character of the Zukunftskolleg, the programme is open to fellows of the Zukunftskolleg in collaboration with non-tenured researchers (postdoctoral researchers, junior professors, research group leaders etc.) of the University of Konstanz.

Application

Applications must contain:

  • A description of the proposed course, including a description of the need that the grant will fill (max. 4 pages)
  • A plan of the course. The course will be listed in the departmental teaching curriculum.
  • An expenditure plan for the year 2023. (The applicants are encouraged to spend the money in the financial year 2023. If the proposed course needs to be extended beyond the current financial year, please submit an additional expenditure plan for the financial year 2024.)
  • Any logistical support needed that is not included in the budget
  • CVs of the researchers involved in the collaborative teaching project (maximum length 3 pages per person).
  • Proof of the employment or of the scholarship at the University of Konstanz.

    At the end of the project, we expect a final report on how the project goals were or were not achieved (1 page). The recipients of the Transdisciplinary teaching grant will be asked to present the project within the Jour fixe meetings of the Zukunftskolleg.

  2. "100 Spectres" – An Interdisciplinary Art Exhibition about Water" – Tanja Klemm (Literature) and Sarah Bildstein (Artist)
