Senior Fellowship by Nomination
The Senior Fellowship programme of the Zukunftskolleg is designed to bring together excellent scholars from all countries and disciplines, and to strengthen the intergenerational scientific dialogue between postdoctoral and established researchers.
Only Fellows of the Zukunftskolleg, the Director and the Rector of the University of Konstanz may nominate candidates for Senior Fellowships. Fellows can also nominate a Senior Fellow as part of the collaboration between a fellow and her/his local host. Entitled persons may submit nominations to the Zukunftskolleg at any time.
Award Details
Senior Fellowships comprise a research stay at the Zukunftskolleg of one to twelve months and provide funding for a Senior Fellow position for the duration of the stay. Upon agreement the fellowship can be divided into two to three research stays.
The Zukunftskolleg follows the maxim “no loss, no gain” when deciding upon the financial details of the Fellowship. Senior Fellows receive a monthly honorarium, the size of which will be decided after consultation with the fellow and a consideration of relevant circumstances. The Senior Fellow may choose one of the following options: The Zukunftskolleg assumes the costs of a replacement at the Senior Fellow's home institution or the Senior Fellow receives a remuneration (honorarium). Additionally, the Zukunftskolleg provides a subsidy to cover living expenses in Konstanz.
The Senior Fellow can apply during the fellowship for financial support (co-funding) from the Zukunftskolleg, for example for student/research assistants, consumables and workshops.
The Senior Fellows are expected to spend their fellowship in residence, to work on the proposed project, and to participate actively in the academic life at the Zukunftskolleg. Please note that field trips or archival research during the Fellowship is possible only to a limited extent.
