Questioning Racist Structures in Academia: Perspectives from the Gender Studies
This special issue took place in the context of the #4GenderStudies Science Day which started in 2017 with the intention to show Gender Studies in all their diversity and to portray their scientific contribution.
This special issue takes place in the context of the #4GenderStudies Science Day which started in 2017 with the intention to show Gender Studies in all their diversity and to portray their scientific contribution.
While it has been taking place mainly in the German-speaking context, we hope to expand it transnationally.
This year we would like to use this day for self-reflection. 2020 was not only the year of the pandemic, but also the year of transnational anti-racist protests.
As members of academic institutions and structures, we need to address racism within our midst and inside our workspaces to take the necessary steps against it.
