Tilman Triphan is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Zukunftskolleg affiliated with the Department of Biology.

Instead of talking about his regular research, Tilman Triphan presented the experiences he made in an interdisciplinary course for undergrads he organized together with Lukas Barwitzki (Department of History) last semester. The aim of the course was to bring students from different fields of research together and develop a forum for interdisciplinary exchanges of specific topics. The first half of the seminar was a general introduction to methodological approaches from genetics, molecular biology and bioinformatics (Tilman) as well as history and cultural studies (Lukas). In the second half, students read, presented and discussed papers with an interdisciplinary focus.
