Increasingly, debates about the ecological transformation are interlinked with concerns about how environmental policies might have a different impact on rich and poor people. This talk presents new research findings on how individual citizens perceive the socio-economic impact of environmental policies such as carbon taxes and why this is likely to matter for climate change politics. It will also discuss research that studies public opinion towards long-term investment policies, such as climate change, but also investments in education.
