Master’s study programmes usually require 2 to 4 semesters of study and lead an additional university degree. The master’s degree builds on the previous bachelor’s degree programme and develops previously acquired skills and career qualifications. The master’s degree programmes, are “more practice oriented” or “more research oriented”. Earning a master’s degree generally allows students to begin their doctoral studies. Once you have passed the master’s examination, the University of Konstanz awards you the academic degree "Master of Science” or “Master of Arts”.
