Application for bachelor-level studies

The application procedure applies to you if you are a national of a non-EU- / non-EEA- state and did not obtain your higher education entrance qualification in Germany.

On this page you will find information about applying for first degree programmes - those leading to a bachelor’s degree or the first state examination in law.

If you have not earned your higher education entrance qualification in the EU, the European economic area (EEA) or in Switzerland, this application process applies to you.

Exceptions:

  • As a refugee in Germany, you have access to a special application process.
  • If you are a German citizen, please follow the EU/EEA/Switzerland guidelines for the simplified application process. The same applies if you live in Germany with a family member (spouse, child, parent) who has EU/EEA/Swiss citizenship and is working in Germany.
  • If you have received your higher education entrance qualification outside in Germany, please follow the German guidelines for the simplified application process.
