4. The purpose of data processing and consequences of not providing your personal data
A registration via the corresponding form is required so we can adequately plan and prepare the course. We need a valid email address in case the organizer of the course has to contact you to give you important information about the course. Please indicate the subject of your writing project so we can adequately prepare the course content. Information about the subject may be saved in anonymized form for statistical purposes.
In case you do not give your consent, you can not participate in the course. You will not suffer any disadvantages for not participating. In certain cases, participating without registration is possible. Please contact the Writing Centre for more information.
5. Legal basis
Article 6 para. 1 lit. e in connection with Article 6 para. 3 of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in connection with § 13 para. 1 of the “Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg” (state law on higher education).
6. Recipients
Heike Meyer and Stefanie Everke Buchanan, staff members of the Writing Centre, as well as the tutors currently working here.
7. Storage duration
Data are stored up to a maximum of three months after the end of the course.
8. Your rights
In accordance with Article 15 GDPR, you have the right to request information from the University of Konstanz about any data it stores that is related to your person and/or to have incorrect data corrected as per Article 16 GDPR.
You also have the right to demand that your data be deleted (Article 17 GDPR) or that the processing and use thereof be restricted (Article 18 GDPR), as well as to object to the processing and use of your data (Article 21 GDPR).
You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of data at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing since consent had been provided before its withdrawal (Article 13 GDPR).
