Webs of thought
Exhibition of contemporary art at the BildungsTURM
Exhibition “webs of thought – a philosophical look at abstract and organic art” at the BildungsTURM.
The exhibition “webs of thought – a philosophical look at abstract and organic art” (“Gedankengeflechte. Ein philosophischer Blick durch abstrakte und organische Kunst”) forms part of an interdisciplinary project that combines contemporary visual art – painting, plastic art – with philosophy. It aims to spark a conversation between the two disciplines. The exhibition makers and participating partners are the artist Julie Pelletier and the philosopher Julien Bernard from the Zukunftskolleg of the University of Konstanz. The exhibition is on at the BildungsTURM in the Culture Centre from 21 May until 14 June 2015. A preview will be held on Wednesday, 20 May 2015 at 18:30.
Julie Pelletier’s sculptures, videos and installations aim to engender new kinds of philosophical reflections on matter and form by Julien Bernard. These will be made available to visitors in the form of explanatory notes that illuminate the exhibits from both philosophical and artistic perspectives. Julien Bernard’s philosophical reflections in turn help the artist to rethink her world, with the ultimate goal of bringing to light further interpretive approaches. Their dialogue seeks to question, add to and enrich the ingrained assumptions of philosophy and art.
The exhibition is funded by the city of Konstanz, by the Zukunftskolleg, the University of Konstanz Society and the Department of Philosophy.
Opening times: Tuesdays to Fridays from 10:00-12:00 and from 13:00-18:00. Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00-12:00 and from 13:00-17:00.
