New offer from summer semester 2025: support from student ESD multipliers
- Are you interested in sustainable development but feel that your own teaching topics cannot really be linked to sustainability?
- Are you looking for new impulses for your teaching and concrete and directly realisable ways to integrate sustainability into your courses?
- Would you like to promote student engagement and participation and create space for other (learning) experiences for students in your teaching?
- Would you like to try something new in your teaching and get involved in a co-teaching setting with students, for example?
Then let student experts in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) support you.
What can you expect when working with student ESD multipliers?
The student multipliers will be prepared for their task in terms of content and methodology as part of a block seminar in the winter semester 2024/2025. They will acquire basic knowledge about sustainability, the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the concept of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). In addition, they will learn various didactic ways of implementing ESD, try out different formats and methods and develop concrete subject-specific links to sustainability for the various disciplines.
In the summer semester of 2025, the students will start the practical phase and will therefore support you in integrating sustainability into your teaching. The exact nature of the support is agreed individually between students and teaching staff and can be very diverse: content-related ideas and thematic points of contact, methodological suggestions, joint teaching in a co-teaching setting, integration of a student ESD unit into the course, etc.
During the practical phase, students are supported through regular meetings and individual counselling by the coordinator for teaching in the area of sustainability and have the opportunity to reflect on their learning process and their own teaching experiences in this setting. An individual feedback discussion between students and teachers after the collaboration and the participation of the teachers in the final event are also very valuable and desirable for the participating students.
Recognition for the Baden-Württemberg Certificate for University Didactics
The collaboration with a student ESD multiplier and the joint design of one or more units of your course in accordance with Education for Sustainable Development can, under certain conditions, be recognised as a Module 3 project as part of the Baden-Württemberg Certificate for University Didactics. To do this, you will need to consult Dr Susanne Brüggen (susanne.brueggen@uni-konstanz.de) from the University Didactics team in advance.
