Rector remains vice-president
Professor Ulrich Rüdiger will continue to oversee research and young researchers in the Executive Board of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) for an additional two years.
On 10 May, Professor Ulrich Rüdiger, rector of the University of Konstanz, was reelected as vice president of the German Rectors' Conference (HRK) at its General Meeting. It is his second term of office. Ulrich Rüdiger is responsible for the field of research and young researchers. The main focuses of his work include national research policy, doctoral studies and innovative doctoral training, the promotion of young academics as well as research rating for the German Council of Science and Humanities. Professor Horst Hippler, former president of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), is president of the HRK.
Ulrich Rüdiger has been rector of the University of Konstanz since 2009 after having been Vice President for Research since 2007. In these capacities, he contributed largely to the University of Konstanz’s success in both phases of the German Excellence Initiative - in 2006/2007 and again in 2012. In 2002, he took on the professorship of Experimental Physics at the University of Konstanz.
