As Vice Rector for Teaching at the University of Konstanz, Professor Rüdiger Wilhelmi is a member of the Rectorate and the Senate as well as an advisory member of the University Council. The Vice Rector for Teaching is responsible for matters related to studying and teaching as well as further training, including international aspects.
Additionally, he chairs both the Committee on Curricular Affairs and Life-Long Learning (ALW) and the university’s Central Examination Board. He also serves on the board of the Binational School of Education (BiSE), on the board of the Language Institute (SLI) and as chair of the Academy for Advanced Studies at the University of Konstanz (AWW).
Short bio
Since 2010, Professor Rüdiger Wilhelmi has been a professor of civil law with a focus on business law at the University of Konstanz, and has been Vice Rector for Teaching since April 2024. His main research areas are liability law, contract law –especially company acquisitions – as well as corporate law and securities law. He was a member of the Senate from 2018 to March 2024 and dean of the Faculty of Politics, Law and Economics from 2018 to 2021. In the Department of Law, he was the head of department from 2023 to March 2024 and dean of studies from 2015 to 2016. He has also been a principal investigator in the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality" since 2018. Before coming to Konstanz, Rüdiger Wilhelmi completed his doctorate and habilitation in Tübingen, and worked as an in-house lawyer in the business sector.
