As Vice Rector for Diversity and Academic Staff Development, Professor Isabell Otto is a member of the Rectorate and the Senate as well as an advisory member of the University Council and board member of the Language Institute.
She works closely with the Equal Opportunity Office, Academic Staff Development and the International Office.
Short bio
After a period as junior professor, Isabell Otto has been a professor of media studies at the University of Konstanz since 2017. Previously, she taught and researched at the University of Cologne, the University of Siegen and at Ruhr University Bochum. She held a DFG research professorship as part of the research unit "Media and Participation. Between Demand and Entitlement" (in German), where she was a project leader and vice spokesperson. Isabell Otto's research focuses on digitally networked and mobile media. She is a sub-project manager at the Research Institute Social Cohesion in Konstanz, board member of the scientific association of the four-country region of Lake Constance (Wissenschaftsverbunds Vierländerregion Bodensee, W4), member of the Centre for Cultural Inquiry and co-founder of the GameLab at the University of Konstanz. Isabell Otto was spokesperson for the Department of Literature, Art and Media Studies, vice dean of the Faculty of Humanities and equal opportunity representative at the University of Konstanz.
