Procedure of an inspection

Step by step

We always come unannounced, secretly and of course during the lunch break or outside your working hours! If necessary we will ring you out of bed!

In any case, we always come exactly when you least expect it. After all, we also want our fun!

Bullshit!

The preparation

An inspection must be prepared by all participants. Therefore, the inspection is announced in good time by the safety engineers or all participants are invited. Usually by e-mail. Then an appointment is made for a preliminary discussion.

How you can prepare for the meeting:

Please have the risk assessment of your workplace or area ready. Operating instructions and, if necessary, your industrial safety folder are also important.

Please think about which defects you have already noticed and note them down.

Do you have any wishes as to whether certain activities or workplaces or work equipment should be inspected more closely during the inspection?

How we safety engineers prepare ourselves:

With your information and, if necessary, your wishes, we compile the necessary documents and legal regulations. We draw up a checklist of which hazards are typically associated with the usual or special activities at your workplace and inform ourselves about permissible limit values or possible measures.

The "big day"

Before we run off and stick our noses into your fishing events, we sit together in a cosy group for a preliminary talk.

The preliminary talk is still "informal". There you will learn details of how the inspection will take place and we will discuss your goals and wishes. Let us know which activities or areas we should look at more closely together. We take a look at the risk assessment and advise you whether or how you should update or supplement it.

You will receive a checklist from us, which questions about possible hazards during the inspection should ideally all be answered.

Here we go!

The safety inspection

Now the whole troop marches off to your place of work. One of the characteristics of the safety engineers is that they do a little blackpainting. We have a nose for Murphy's Law, which means "what can go wrong goes wrong" sooner or later. But we also want you not to be there! Or better yet, that it won't come to that!

We imagine scenarios what can go wrong. We are trained for this and have the right specialists. That's a good thing, because who wants to think up horror scenarios all day long? Leave that to our professional creativity. Better we think up a scenario than it actually happens later, but nobody thought about it before.

We discuss it together and at the same time brainstorm what can be done to prevent such an imaginary scenario from happening.

The result

At the end we have a hopefully short list with different dangers, and/or lacks, which should be repaired as soon as possible. For this we can gladly suggest measures and support you with the conversion of measures.

However, you will receive a "homework assignment" at this point. Your task is to enter the identified hazards, measures and a timetable for their implementation in our RedMine "Mängelverwaltungssystem" (deficiency management system).

RedMine has the advantage that the identified deficiencies and hazards are not only centrally documented, but that proposed measures can also serve as a model in other comparable cases and a faster and more effective implementation is possible.

Our homework consists of recording the inspection - for our archive and as proof that we have fulfilled our job as security engineers and for you as a basis and assistance in your work with RedMine.
