Wind Symphonica is the symphonic wind orchestra of the University of Konstanz. We are always looking for new motivated orchestra members! You can join us at the beginning of each semester. If it is possible to join later, you can usually find out here on the website under News.
When and where does Wind Symphonica rehearse?
We rehearse during the lecture period on Mondays from 8 p.m. to 9.45 p.m. at the University of Konstanz, room K503.
Wo can join Wind Symphonica?
Wind Symphonica is always looking for committed musicians. Even though we have the status of a university group (Hochschulgruppe) of the University of Konstanz, membership in the orchestra is not only open to university members.
What are the membership requirements?
Of course you should have a good command of your instrument. Previous experience in an orchestra is required. You must also have your own instrument and, if possible, your own music stand. Since we are a university group, membership is completely free!
Notice: You are currently viewing the english speaking version of our website. Hence we want to let you know that the our rehearsals take place in German language. Please only apply if you feel confident taking part in German-language music rehearsals. Of course our conductor and all our musicians will be happy to assist you if you cannot understand something.

How does the application process work?
Starting at Wind Symphonica is always possible at the beginning of the semester. Please send us your application no later than 15th April for the summer semester or no later than 15th October for the winter semester. At the beginning of each rehearsal phase, our musical director decides on the applications received and we will let you know whether you have been accepted. There is usually no audition. It can happen that all the seats in your instrument group are already taken, but this is very rare. As an exception, it may also be possible to join Wind Symphonica during the ongoing rehearsal phase if you play an instrument that we are particularly looking for. What I like best about Wind Symphonica is that all the players are highly motivated and we can therefore rehearse super cool and extremely demanding programs.

What I like about Wind Symphonica is that we also have a lot to do with each other in our free time and that we have also formed friendships.

What I think is great about Wind Symphonica is that we are a self-organized orchestra: Everyone can contribute as much and with what they want and what they are good at.
